Day 9Cadillac to Detroit, Deutsche Version
Nächster Stopp war Grand Rapids. Nettes Städchen. Hätten wir auch gerne noch etwas mehr Zeit verbracht, aber wir mussten weiter, da wir ja doch ein grobes Ziel für heute hatten. Leider haben wir uns da etwas im Krankenhausviertel verlaufen :-( Von da ging es dann nach Grandville. Da wohnt Kaitlin jetzt. Da es die letzten Tage irgendwie nie geklappt hat mit dem Treffen haben wir das dann heute endlich geschafft. Und wir durften auch Ava kurz kennen lernen. Süßer Fratz, aber vielleicht auch nur weil sie geschlafen hat ;-) ... Cadillac to Detroit, english version
Hey, just because somebody kept complaning about us posting only in german, I gotta get some posting done in english ;-) We left Terry and Sandie's today, so we also left Cadillac. But before I got the opportunity to show Rainer Lake City High from the inside :-) We drove south, to Grand Rapids. Walked around for a little while and got kind of lost in the medical area. But it looked nice around. After a little while kept on heading south, to Grandville. I finally got to see Kaitlin today. Also met her beautiful daughter Ava. Was so great to see her again :-) But this wasn't the last stop for the day. We just crashed @ Phil's. Went out to have some Pizza. His fiance also joined us. Very nice evening. After that we kind of planed on going to bed. But it came to Rainer's head, that there was a Hard Rock Cafe here in Detroit and that he would love to have one more of those shooter glasses.So we decided to head downtown Detroit. Phil joined us. By the time we got there, they were closing down already, but Phil told them we just wanted to get one of those glases and we are from Cologne. That one guy trained the chef who's working in the Hard Rock Cafe in Cologne now. So they opend up again. Rainer got his glas and they even slid away the tables so they could take a picture of the three of us. That's what you call a special treatment :-) Nice guys!!! |

So, heute haben wir viele Kilometer geschrubbt, viel gesehen und nix vorher geplant gehabt :-) Heute morgen haben wir Terry und Sandie verlassen. Erst haben wir noch ein kleines Fotoshooting in der Umgebung gemacht. U.a. waren wir noch kurz in Lake City, da ich noch ein Foto von der Schule haben wollte. Und siehe da, die war sogar offen und wir haben einen kurzen Blick rein werfen können. Viel geändert hat sich hier in den letzten Jahren jedoch nicht. Also alles auf Anhieb wiedererkannt. :-)
